ABOUT THE PRACTICE

Play. Take risks. Create. PRACTICE.

RPK Acting Practice fosters a safe and welcoming space for theatre practitioners of all levels to dig into and engage more deeply with their practice through a process of play, risk-taking, and imagination.

I’ve had the privilege and pleasure of working around the world, building bridges and a reputation that has provided me with a wide variety of opportunities. I love to perform live on stage, be on set, and create and collaborate in production. At the heart of each of those experiences is making something beautiful and moving with new people. That is what fulfils me, and I bring this into the studio in my teaching practice.

Making art is a unique experience to every human being who endeavours to create. Each student I work with is so different from the next and the process it takes to polish one’s work is never the same as the person next to you. I strive to create a space where each student can grow fully, with strength and confidence in their craft.

By meeting one another in a respectful, encouraging and safe place, while understanding that challenge, provocation, and risk will be part of the experience, together we can deepen your connection with the material, finesse your overall impact on the audience, and ultimately elevate your performance.

There’s no one way to get to where you want to be, and the journey is never the way you expect it.  But I firmly believe that nothing that’s meant for you will ever pass you by. Through commitment and practice your work will develop, your outlook will evolve, and your skill will improve.

And it’s really fun. There’s always that!
