GROUP CLASSES

Practice together

Join award winning actor Ryan Kelly in class, practicing what you love. Each class gets you moving. Each class gets you thinking. Each class gets you connecting!

Breathe. Move. Risk. Grow.

Group classes are offered throughout the year, generally as a four-week series. The focus for each series varies, but each session in the series will include a warm-up and work based in movement, risk-taking, and connection in a safe and supportive environment. Students will explore techniques and exercises to improve their acting skills through connection to impulse, breath in the body, and presentation of text.

Classes are open to all - beginners to professionals!

Classes

All classes include a warm-up.

  • Using Viewpoints Technique and Improvisation Fundamentals, Ryan creates a safe and consensual environment where you can explore sharing space, taking risks with your imagination, and collaborating with others in the moment. This is a really fun class that gets you out of your head and into your body, out of your house and into the room, and keeps you on your toes!

  • There are a whole set of variables at play each time you perform. Come to practice your audition monologues or dive into new work. Discover what you need to work on and how to improve. In each class you will have the chance to stand before a supportive class, be coached by Ryan on your technique and performance, and learn from others.

  • Come to class ready to grow! This supportive group environment practices you in working with an accompanist and performing for others. Bring your current repertoire or bring in new material. Each session provides you with the opportunity to be coached by Ryan on your performance and journey through a song, while also receiving valuable advice or technique suggestions from the accompanist.

  • In this class, actors will be given scripts and will work in pairs to create compelling scenes filled with energy and discovery. Using scenes from plays and/or film and tv, the class will breakdown text, work through physical and emotional points of view, create character foundations, and then practice letting it all go in the moment. Scene Study classes will focus on stage technique or on camera technique, depending on the session.

Ryan is my “go to” coach Every. Single. Time. I have landed countless roles because of his insights. He knows his craft and can help you discover new ways of connecting to the text and your fellow performers that is simply electric! And he does all of this while creating a safe, empathetic and encouraging environment.
